The Challenge

Cushman & Wakefield was instructed in January 2012 by Fortis Lease UK Limited to provide marketing and agency advice for the disposal of three surplus floors within 133 Finnieston Street a modern eleven storey office building located on the periphery of Glasgow City centre.

The Solution

The brief was to secure an assignee or sub-tenant for the remaining lease liability as quickly as possible, on the best possible lease and rental terms.  The out of town office market in Glasgow at that time was heavily weighted towards tenants due to very high levels of supply.  C&W provided market-led advice highlighting the desirable location of the building within the Finnieston area of the City, excellent fit-out available and panoramic views across the city.

The Results

Through our extensive market knowledge, C&W was able to target a local firm of Accountants who had an upcoming lease event. The 9th & 10th Floors (13,191 sq ft) were successfully let to French Duncan LLP for their new Glasgow HQ.
